How email alerts work

OutbreakThreat does not guess outbreaks. Paid plans email you when a published, source-linked signal matches the geography and disease rules you set.

  1. You pick a plan, save one or more watch areas, and choose a radius (5–250 miles, capped by plan).
  2. You choose which diseases to follow and the minimum credibility tier (Official vs Emerging, depending on plan).
  3. When our index has an active signal whose pin falls inside your radius and passes your filters, we queue an email. Each email points back to the agency page—we do not paste full case files into your inbox.
  4. If nothing matches, you get silence. That is normal: it means we are not seeing a publisher-reported notice for that combination right now.

Technical detail: subscriber emails only send for signals that meet our internal bar (for example official tier plus https publisher links for certain mail paths). Sources & methodology
